Update on Iglesia del Pueblo

Image result for iglesia del pueblo

The Lonesome Country Road

The Lonesome Country Road

Walking down this lonesome country road.
They didn't pay me half what I was owed.
But I gambled the rest away.
And I left that town behind yesterday.

I've been down this same old road before.

Stretching miles along the ocean shore.
The scorching Texas sun is beating down.
The same way that it was when I left town.

I've been walking the streets of a tiny Texas town.

Don't you let the feelings get you down.
I've been drinking alone in the dusty old saloon.
And I didn't leave a moment too soon.

I think I'll hitchhike down to Mexico.
Across the border, southbound I will go.
I'll leave West Texas there with all my blues.
And shake the dust and sand out of my shoes.

The tiny Texas town will still be there.

Standing in the cool September air.
While the Eastern winds blow trouble into town.
The hurricane will tear the whole place down.

I've been walking the streets of a tiny Texas town.

Don't you let the feeling get you down.
I couldn't drown in a bottle all my deepest doubts and fears.
But the lonesome road made them all too clear.

Driving down the lonesome country road.
Where the Mississippi waters once had flowed.
I set out from Vicksburg, Texas bound.
Not to stay there but just to hang around.

I see the country path I once had walked.
Elusive freedom that I once had sought.
The weary traveler stops here for the day.
And the lonesome road will guide him on his way.

I've been walking the streets of a tiny Texas town.
Don't you let the feeling get you down.
When the lonely sparrow on the rooftop starts to fly.
It's time for him to leave and so must I.

5 More Overplayed Classic Rock Radio Songs

Here are 5 more songs which we need to stop playing every hour on rotation on classic rock radio.

1. The Spirit of Radio: Another Rush classic, But if you want a compact rocker, go for A Passage to Bangkok from the 2112 album.

2. The Boys of Summer: I saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac. Are there any other good Don Henley songs?

3. Start Me Up: You make a grown man cry when you play this on the radio so much. Let me hear Hey Negrita or Ain't Too Proud to Beg.

4. Won't Get Fooled Again: Meet the new boss; same as the old boss. Daltrey's primal scream. Listen to Behind Blue Eyes or Substitute instead.

5. Dream On: One of the more interesting songs in Aerosmith's catalog. Try One Way Street from the first album instead.

Some More Honorable Mentions:

Free Bird, Whole Lotta Love, (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, Rock 'n Me, Riders on the Storm

2018 Update on the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame: 2019 Update

2018 honorees include the Cars, Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, and the Moody Blues. While it's about time some of these groups got in, there are still many deserving groups that are still on the outside looking in. Here are 10 still on the outside looking in. The Zombies are in as a part of the 2019 class.

1.     Supertramp: Old Christine’s favorite band. The Hall would be Bloody Well Right to induct them.
2.     Emerson, Lake & Palmer: 2/3 of this prog-rock super-group died in 2016.
3.     Bad Company: Super-group with ex-Free band-mates Simon Kirke and Paul Rodgers.
4.     Three Dog Night: It would bring Joy to the World if this group with 3 lead vocalists made it in to the Hall.
5.     Grand Funk Railroad: They're getting closer to their home in the HOF.
6.     Steppenwolf: Nominated in 2017, but not inducted. Wherever Jon Kay is at the moment, he is certainly wearing sunglasses.
7.     REO Speedwagon: Roll with the Changes and Don’t Let Him Go are a couple of this 1980s pop-rock group's hits.
8.     Foreigner: It’s Urgent that this group gets in.
9.     The Guess Who / Bachman Turner Overdrive: Let's hope the Hall takes care of business and inducts Bachman and Cummings.
10.  The Zombies / Argent: Rod Argent’s first group, known for “Time of the Season” and “She’s Not There.”
10. Boston: This group is strong enough to get in on their 1976 debut album alone. Did they really do anything else though?

Honorable Mentions: Jethro Tull, Judas Priest, J. Geils Band, Iron Maiden, T.Rex, Mott the Hoople, Mötley Crüe, King Crimson, The Monkees, Blue Oyster Cult, The Doobie Brothers, Thin Lizzy, Styx, and the Scorpions
